Gas
£865.48
Of which standing charges
£308.46

How it works it out

  • It uses the Great Britain average rates for 1 October to 31 December 2026: Direct Debit electricitySource: Ofgem, gasSource: Ofgem, paying on receipt of a billSource: Ofgem, gas on receipt of a billSource: Ofgem, prepayment electricitySource: Ofgem and prepayment gasSource: Ofgem. The rates are in the price cap table.
  • A year’s use times the unit rate, plus 365 days of standing charge. With Ofgem’s typical use on Direct Debit that comes within a pound of Ofgem’s own £1,723 a yearSource: Ofgem: Ofgem publishes its rates rounded to two decimal places, and works out its figure from the unrounded ones.
  • Your own rates depend on where you live and your meterSource: Ofgem, so treat this as a guide. It’s for single-rate meters; Economy 7 and other multi-rate tariffs work differently.
  • The rates change every three months, so a year at today’s rates is an estimate, not a forecast. On a fixed deal, use your own tariff’s rates instead.
